Three 2019 Writers Conferences in Texas

Screen-Shot-2019-08-31-at-11.44.04-AM.pngIf you’re looking for an upcoming writers conference in Texas, here are three awesome options for fall 2019. Each of the conferences is a one-day event, full of classes and advice designed to give you the best instruction concerning how to get your writing & books published. Instructors will discuss your publishing opportunities today, how to write queries & pitches, how to market yourself and your books, what makes an agent/editor stop reading your manuscript, and more. No matter what you’re writing — fiction or nonfiction — the day’s classes will help point you in the right direction. Writers of all genres are welcome. This event is designed to squeeze as much into one day of learning as possible. You can ask any questions you like during the classes, and get your specific concerns addressed.

Each conference has attending literary agents who are there specifically to meet with attendees and take ten-minute one-on-one pitch appointments. Use this opportunity to pitch your work directly to an agent face to face. Also, at midday at the conference, there is a First Pages Panel, where attendees’ first pages are read aloud anonymously, and literary agents give feedback about why the first pages succeeded in capturing their interest or not. This is a unique and rare opportunity to understand why an agent says yes or no to a new submission.

The info and links below will tell you much more, and instruct you on how to sign up. If you have any general questions, you can email me, Chuck Sambuchino, at writingdayworkshops@gmail.com and I can help. Thanks!
